In what it calls the first step in a collaboration among member firms to come up with recommendations for standardizing fixed income research practices, the Bond Market Association has published “Guiding Principles to Promote the Integrity of Fixed Income Research”. The recommended practices are designed to enhance investor protection and manage potential conflicts of interest for integrated sell-side institutions that underwrite and trade debt securities, and then distribute research reports on those securities to investors.
