Minimum Wage Hikes in Arizona, Other States Take Effect in the New Year
With the approval of Proposition 202, Arizona voters said yes to an increase in the states minimum wage, a question put forth on the November ballot.
Roughly 145,000 workers in Arizona will receive an immediate pay raise on the first of the year because of the mandated increase.
Arizona is one of six states that passed minimum wage ordinances in the November elections, according to Commerce Clearing House, which recently posted a summary of these legislative changes in its online news library.
The other states that approved minimum wage hikes include:
- Colorado
- Missouri
- Montana
- Nevada; and
- Ohio
