The Securities & Exchange Commission’s (SEC) “Report on Transactions in Municipal Securities” , A joint effort of the Office of Economic Analysis and the Office of Municipal Securities, analyzes municipal bond trade records from November 1999 through October 2000. The report further increases the transparency of the municipal market driven by transaction reporting requirements by the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) that went into effect in the mid 1990s.
