Phoenix Prepares for Special Bond Election on March 14

Phoenix, Arizona
February 14, 2006 · Print · Email

The influx of population that Phoenix, Arizona has enjoyed over the past several years has resulted in some growing pains now surfacing in the form of huge infrastructure needs. To finance these improvements, the city will be asking voters to approve seven propositions - totalling over $875 million in bonds - in a special election on March 14.

To help voters prepare for the election, the city has posted an “Election Information” page on its web site, where citizens can view sample ballots, read through the propositions, access early voting request forms, and find their neighborhood polling place. Press releases pertaining to the special election are also posted here.

One of the seven propositions pertains to police/fire and homeland security improvements, a measure we expect to see more local governments pursue in light of recent natural disasters in addition to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
