Measuring Government Performance

Performance Measurement for Government, a project of the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) recently released a special report on how governments can develop effective reports on performance for external use. “Reporting Performance Information: Suggested Criteria for Effective Communication” includes sixteen specific criteria designed to “communicate relevant, reliable information about the results of government programs and services to elected officials, citizens, and other users.”
