Houston METRORail Brings Traffic Relief

Houston’s new light rail service begins operation METRO, the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, rang in the new year with the launching of its METRORail service, a 7.5-mile light rail line that runs between downtown Houston and the Texas Medical Center and Reliant Park. In addition to providing relief for commuters who travel this congested corridor, the Authority hopes that the new rail system will lead to other economic advances in the area.
