Take a ride back to the towns of the past at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. Just one reason to put the Detroit area on your summer travel list, the Henry Ford Museum offers a taste of history that stretches far beyond the automobile.
Visitors can plan themed itineraries based on special interests. This summer, for example, Greenfield Village features a tribute to baseball, and visitors can download a self-guided itinerary, via the Museum/Greenfield Village web site to make the maximize their experience and make sure they see and do all related sites and activities.
The Henry Ford Museum is located in Dearborn, Michigan, about a half-hour outside of Detroit. The Museum complex includes the Henry Ford Museum, the Henry Ford IMAX Theater, Greenfield Village, the Ford Rouge Factory Tour, and the Benson Ford Research Center. With over 1.6 million visitors per year, it is the largest indoor/outdoor museum in the U.S.
