FDIC Profiles Provide Quarterly Snapshot of State Economies

Many people know the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) as the independent federal agency that insures bank and thrift deposits. But what many may not realize is that working behind the scenes is a team of analysts that conduct a variety of research.

While some of its research products require a subscription, its State Economic Profiles - updated quarterly - are available free of charge. These updates highlight regional and state trends from employment to housing data to bank credit quality.

In addition to commentary, these profiles include “At a Glance” tables that provide annual and quarterly comparative economic indicators and detailed banking trends.
