Extra!...Extra!...Newseum to Showcase News Production, History
While the physical grand opening of the Newseum is slated for fall 2007, news hounds can get a daily dose of international articles, newspaper trivia, construction updates, and notices of upcoming events via the Newseum web site.
The seven-level Newseum - located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street in Washington D.C. - is expected to open on October 15, 2007. It will house more than 25 exhibits and galleries that showcase newspapers past and present, as well as news coverage of historic events and places, such as 9/11 and the Berlin Wall.
Other galleries will delve into news coverage via radio, TV and the Internet.
The museum will also feature cutting-edge, hands-on exhibits, like an interactive newsroom where visitors can test their journalistic and/or broadcast skills by preparing and delivering news reports on simulated breaking events.
