Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Breaks Attendance Records
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum was dedicated on April 16, 2005 in Springfield, Illinois. Many dignitaries, including President George W. Bush attended the gala celebrating the life and history of the United States’ 16th President. The library and museum contains many of Lincoln’s historical documents and possessions that have been collected since the Illinois State Historical Library was created in 1889. Within three months of its opening, over 200,000 people visited the library, breaking official records for all other presidential libraries.
